Merry Christmas Eve
Today the Bambina diligently worked on her Christmas cards, then she helped me make some brownies for sharing with the family. While waiting for the mint layer to harden (yes, these are special brownies) we chanced upon a free preview of the cable channel NickJunior. Moments later, my girl was reciting, "Buy, Buy, Buy", meaning too many commercials compared to her beloved TVO or Treehouse. I guess she's no sucker.
It's definitely a very commercial time of year and while I did scale back, there's no way I can deny my little girl that overpriced Thomas train she's been hankering for. She's been such a joy these past few weeks, and it's not just because she's trying to earn brownie points from Santa. Her reaction to some very exciting news, that a sib is on the way come June (God willing), has been nothing short of beautiful. So can you blame me for wanting to indulge this soon-to-be-big-sister, who's already planning on teaching the baby all the colours of the rainbow?
I feel very blessed during this season and hope all your wishes come true too.
Merry Christmas, or as they were singing at a certain trying-to-be-very-inclusive public grade school, "Feliz Navidad, Feliz Navidad, I wanna wish you an Eid Mubarak from the bottom of my heart."

Merry Christmas to you, too, Maria! I hope all your wishes for 2010 come true, and that the Bambina's love for her sibling-to-be keeps growing.
